36″x84″x1.75 New Queen Anne Oak Entry Door w/Stained Glass. Stunning, rob ust door handmade by our skilled carpenter. It has a solid wooden core made of pine, and is veneered with ¼ thick red oak veneers. Many people have a stigma for veneers and that is mostly due to contemporary furniture, which is built of mostly composite wood or high density cardboard, and covered with a paper-thin veneer that may or may not be real wood. Veneers have been used for millennia for the purpose of providing strength and stability to construction. Since oak is a dense hardwood, it is highly susceptible to warping. About 1% of all of the oak doors that weve come across have been truly, solid oak doors with no veneers, and most were warped as a result. The veneers used on this door are ¼ thick, which is the same thickness as the veneers used on most of the high-end, oak doors built during the late 1800s. Most antique doors have decorative embellishments on the exterior side only, and the interior side is plain. We wanted our door to have a stepped ledge and dental molding on both sides. The clear, center glass was cut from an old factory window; its almost 1/4 thick! The stained and slag glass pieces surrounding the clear lite are new. The door is a full 3×7 and could be cut to 79 H. It weighs about 120 lbs. There are no holes in the door, which allows you to install your hardware wherever you like. Much time was put into building this door and it was worth it! Most of the doors we offer in our store are a bit distressed and in need of some TLC. Some of our customers prefer a more distressed, beat-up look over a smooth, even-surfaced door with sharp edges. For those who prefer the latter, look no further! This one-of-a-kind door affords the beauty and charm of an Arts & Crafts design, with the condition of a freshly-built door. Its truly an exception to the phrase, They dont build them like they used to. Finish/Paint : We could finish or paint the door. 36″ W x 84″ H x 1 3/4 Too tall or wide?
